Blog 3-Annie Bates

In chapter 6 Michael and Josie decided that they would have nothing to do with each other. Josie was upset as her ‘father’ had come into her family and acted as if she didn’t exist. This is shown in the book on page 65 as he says straight out “I don’t want her.” This mindset was slowly changed as the book went on because Michael became closer with Christina. At first Josie didn’t want that but eventually realised the good in it. Josie was asking for Michael’s help a lot more which again brought them closer. When he moved to Balmain Christina, Josie and Michael got quite close and continued to be close throughout the entire book. Michael helped Josie through tough times especially when John died. Josie opened up to Michael and began to ask him for help more often. Michael took Josie out for pizza after her presentations where she seemed occasionally cautious but overall quite comfortable with Michael. Finally, Josie’s attitude towards Michael changed completely from the beginning of the book to the end as she firstly didn’t want anything to do with him and ended the story being very close with him and calling him dad.

*I made some changes and put them in capitals. Also I moved the reference to the page number to after the quote – this is the accurate way to do it. Very good paragraph 🙂
